This game is best experienced with sound on.

Play Tester is a game submission to the GMTK 2021 game jam with the theme: Joined Together.

Navigate the broken landscape designed by a lazy developer. Join together with the narrator in anger over the lack of regular game systems, where your only source of movement is to fire an arrow joined to your waste with rope. Get to the end, and most importantly have fun!

Note for if you refuse to use sounds: Controls are disabled for the first 10 or so seconds. After which if you push the "D" key controls will be enabled.

Hello TGVoice,

My name is Antonia Gates, I manage the games at CoolmathGames.com. I really enjoyed PlayTester and I think it would be a great fit for our site!

I'm writing to ask if the game is available for non-exclusive licensing. Our licenses are totally non-exclusive, so you would maintain all of the IP rights and could continue to develop and distribute the game however you'd like to.

Please let me know if it is available, and how much it would cost. I'm looking forward to discussing this with you soon!

Best regards,

Antonia Gates

Cool idea, but I feel like making me press D at the beginning made it so I though I would use it later to unlock more. Also, you can keep shooting in midair to fly.

Hey, thanks for playing! that's a good point, I'll have to keep in mind the unlock part. I actually wanted it so you could fly in midair. Making it that way made it so all the levels were very easy. Since this was for a game jam, I would rather the game be too easy and everyone complete it than be too hard and people give up. Thanks so much for the comment and advice, I really appreciate it!

I agree with your point, but if you were to make a full game I would rethink the ability to shoot in midair. For exaple, maybe the player can only shoot when  either they are on the ground or the arrow is attached to something. But, your game is still very fun and entertaining! Great job!
